Remus just gave her an understanding smile when it came to Peter. It wasn’t like he wasted 12 years he could have used searching for the little traitor if he had known earlier. But he had assumed it was because Sirius asked James and Lily to change their secret keeper, and with him being a werewolf…
Elias smiled helping Sirius up and shook his head. “Oh no, I’m not hers. Not yet at least.” He gave Sirius a wink. Remus had gained a lot of respect for the kid almost instantly, watching and listening approvingly.
“Well,” Remus said in response to Sirius, “Good. I’d rather not have to join Elias here in hexing you.” Remus gave him a smirk before turning to see the door closing and sighed.
Elias’s eyes had followed the movement as well and just after Sirius had prompted him, he walked on out after her, his mind still foggy, but determined. Seeing her kneeling in the snow. Elias had a half grin on his face kneeling after her. He reached for her hands to hold them, though if she showed any indication she didn’t want it, he would retreat.

Tonks, on the other hand, had been quiet. She had a tea tray upside down on her lap, a quill and ink nearby and she was looking down at the parchment, a half-written report addressed to Dumbledore in the works. "Well, it's better than Grimmauld Place, and I can fix up the guest room. Didn't know I was gonna need it, thought Dumbledore had said something... in case I had guests."
Tonk's lips twitched. Once again, Dumbledore had known more than he had let on. Now she had Sirius Black in her house. "I figured I would notify Dumbledore at least of this development. It's gonna be tough if the Ministry catches word though. So, you're really gonna have to lay low, Sirius."
Sirius nodded, lowering himself on the couch now that he had removed himself from the floor. "That Elias kid packs a punch, I was expecting it would be you Moony. But I don't think I could take the two of you together." Sirius laughed, "charming, she is, though. I thought I was hallucinating when she came across me out there. Thought she was your daughter for a second. She shares the same eyes. It was wild."
"Wouldn't mess with love," came Tonks' voice. "I've been watching them. They go back and forth a lot, and I was sure she realized what was going on, but, looks like I was wrong. Its times like these Rose reminds me of how young she really is, because she is very much like Remus in a lot of ways. Very cool-headed. Most of the time."
Sirius nodded, snickering. "I assume she has that self-sacrificing bit too?"
Tonks nodded, smiling slightly.
***
He heard the door open and close again and she closed her eyes, knowing someone would join her out here. She half hoped it was Tonks. She looked up and her heart stalled, nope. Not Tonks. She didn't shy away from him when he took her hands, however, in fact, she studied them. That feeling was back again and she forced herself to look at him, she needed to. Her lips twitched again. The question she wanted to ask on the tip of her tongue.
"Elias..."
She swallowed, and she found herself linking her fingers with his and holding on like she was about to fall. "I know... that we go back and forth a lot... but... have I... have I been blind this entire time?When..." her heart hammered in her chest. "When you told me you were in love with me, that you still were, that... that wasn't part of our game, was it?"

Remus smiled looking to Tonks, he hadn’t known that little bit about Dumbledore, but he felt a little bit let down he hadn’t let him in on it. That was okay. Who would trust a werewolf with that information anyways? Or it could be because then he could possibly be caught helping Sirius Black. If they found out he was here at an Auror’s house, well Tonks could likely end up going to jail.
“Very low. If anyone finds out, we’ll be shipped off to Azkaban with you.” Remus’s eyes were serious, “While it wouldn’t be a big deal if I went with you, I’d rather you not drag Dora down with us.”
He crossed his arms looking at Sirius and then sighed. “I was never really good at standing up to you or James. Though you very nearly pushed me to it today.” He remembered the many times when he stood back and did nothing despite his friends being cruel to some others – specifically Snape, but not only him. “You know I can’t have kids, Sirius.” Oh, he was using his real name. He hadn’t let ‘Padfoot’ slip out yet. Good job Moony.
“Hey, its not a bad thing to be self-sacrificing,” Remus insisted, looking mostly at Tonks when he said this, “It’s better for everyone, in the end. Well, everyone who matters.”
---
Elias furrowed his brow when she asked him that. Did she think he was playing with her this whole time? He thought he had been clear. Frowning, he lifted their hands so they were pressed against each other vertically.
“I have never played games with you, Rose. I have loved you since we were little,” Elias said with a small smile, “I love everything about you. I love the way you smile – the way you laugh, the way you frown. How much you love your family, how determined you are to be happy. I love all of you, Rose. And I have since the moment I met you. I first fell in love with your smile, then soon came the rest of what makes you, you.”

You know that part of her brain? That part of her brain where she locks up alllllll her Remusisms? Well, each and every single one of them was struggling against their cage. Once upon a time, she would've said 'she couldn't', who in their right mind would be in love with her once they found out what she was? It was a very sad truth, one of the things she took to heart from Remus. It was going to be very difficult for her. Sure, she might be pretty, have a good smile and sure, she hadn't transformed with the full moon for a very long time, but that still doesn't change who she is. And the regulations set against her, for when she left Hogwarts. Hogwarts was both fantasy and reality, hell, Beauxbatons had been along the same lines too. Although unlike here, where her lycanthropy was almost taboo, at Beauxbatons, there had been no hiding her, it had been announced, as per regulation, that she was a werewolf. She had been expecting to be very lonely... and then Elias happened.
She hadn't known what to think there, his easy smile. There had been no faking it. She didn't know what to do with it, so she had just let it happen. She assumed it wouldn't last for long. How wrong she was... something in her broke after Christmas in her third year at Beaubatons and she couldn't go on pretending that life was okay. That life would work out. She felt sorry for herself, she had felt sorry for Remus... and Elias had been there. He had somehow gotten into her dorm, where she had been hiding, not eating, not sleeping, bright red burns on her wrist from the watch and Elias was suddenly there. The look of fury from today reminded her of the blazing look he had in his eyes then. He had been rambling off something in French, so fast she wasn't able to keep up with it and then he kissed her.
Kisses at thirteen were different, new, unexplored, but the intensity burned her. She had locked away the memory, putting it off as a one-off thing, because at that time, he had been just a normal boy. Untouchable. There was no furthering or exploring the feelings that kiss meant. It wouldn't have been worth it. No matter how much she had wanted to. Self-sacrificing, remember? But from that day, she loved him too. There was an unspoken bond that formed between the two of them and while it wasn't publically obvious, it seemed people just understood not to come between them.
And then, she moved back. She assumed it was fate telling her to move on and between the crazy of Hogwarts and Harry Potter; she seemed to have done so.
But now it was looking right into her eyes again. "Elias... I.."
She honestly had no words, only emotions. Emotions she couldn't put into words. So, being who she was, how she was, simply yanked him forward, returning that kiss from all those years ago, pulled away, eyes blazing, and kissed him anew. Her hands released his, to thread into his hair.
* * *
Sirius nodded, agreeing with him, "lay low. Got it. Don't mess with Rose, got it. I'm sure she packs quite a punch too if I pissed her off too. I can just tell I don't want to get on her bad side. Not sure if I'd survive all three."
He frowned, "yeah, I knew this. That's why her appearance was rather shocking. It was like you, but a very... female you. Ain't gonna lie, it was weird. And then she had that charm about her too..."
Then a grin spread across his lips. "So, Dora, is it?"
He looked between his cousin (now sporting a pink face to match her hair) and his friend, "my, my, my. What have I missed?"

Elias had never been much of a judgmental sort of person – he didn’t care what they ‘were’ as long as they were good people. Perhaps it came from the fact there were Veela all around at Beauxbatons, or because his parents had just raised a good boy. He always had been fascinated by her, not because of the fact she was a werewolf, or that she had a little bit of succubus in her.
When she had locked herself away, Elias had done everything he could to find her – and when he kissed her, he thought that the fact she didn’t seem to return his affections meant she didn’t feel that way about him. But he would always harbor those feelings for her, so he didn’t mind being just friends – at least he could be with her.
When she finally spoke, Elias’s face lit up slightly, and then to his surprise her lips were on his. Immediately he returned the kiss with a passion, not passing up this chance – was he wrong? Perhaps she had felt this way and because of his antics always thought he was just playing it up. Or was there something more? His hands spread out, one wrapping around her waist and the other wrapping around her back and up to her hair, holding her close.
Worried she had done that just to please him Elias pulled back after a short time, though keeping their lips close. “Rose – I… You don’t have to kiss me for my sake. So long as you are in my life, I will be happy.”
---
Remus’s face immediately when red when Sirius seemed to catch on. Remus wasn’t exactly the most subtle person in the world and his eyes went from Tonks and then to Sirius again. He swallowed. “W-Well…” Flashes of about an hour ago at his point went through his head and his face turned tomato red. “W-We have… grown fairly close…”
Post by Rose Ameile Hunter on Jul 27, 2018 21:15:22 GMT
Returned affection, she had felt this once, but there was something just so pure about it coming from Elias that she knew she would be addicted to it. And even though, she knew he was also like her, she couldn't shake the part of her that remembered that once upon a time he had just been a normal boy, so part of her was still conflicted, was it right for her to do this; but she was after the fact that it should be right. She shouldn't have to fear the outcome of who she loved, just because the ministry were gits.
Her eyes had a determined blaze to them now, closing that small distance between them again, then parted with him to press a kiss to the corner of his mouth, trailed along his jaw before placing a lingering kiss to his neck. She pulled away before her emotions could take her too far.
"Stupid," she muttered. "I'm kissing you for mine and if you don't mind, I would enjoy free-reign of that activity, with the implication that it is not a game if we are in agreeance?"
* * *
"I can tell," guffawed Sirius. "Part of me says it's more than that."
He waggled an eyebrow, chuckling. Good for Moony; he was afraid that would deny himself happiness for the rest of his life. He turned his gaze on Tonks, "I'm sure you don't need telling this, but don't let his self-deprecating and self-sacrificing ways bring you down."
Tonks, despite her blush, nodded and laughed. "No worries, I'm well ahead of you."
Post by Elias Lefeuvre on Jul 27, 2018 21:27:33 GMT
His eyes closed when she closed the distance again, enjoying the feeling. He wondered how exactly he had gotten this lucky – that the girl he loved for ages wanted to share kisses with him. Letting out a content sigh of relief when her short trail started.
“I would very much like that. In turn, would I also have free-reign?” His mouth quirks into a cocky little smile and he lets out a low chuckle.
---
“If – If it is, that’s none of your business I don’t need you – I don’t need you teasing me about snogging someone o-or – anything like that, Pa - Sirius.” Remus paused realizing what he had said, “N-Not that any of that might have happened or –“ Remus just stop it. You’re making this worse. “Y-You already know why there’d be issues with anything that would happen. And – And she knows those too and –“ And she doesn’t care, and you know it. That’s why you had such an intimate time earlier. He swallowed obviously flustered running a hand down his face.
“There’s things we need to be doing instead of running around shagging each other senseless.”

"Unfortunately," Sirius drawled, an amused look on his face. "You'll find it hard pressed for anyone to allow you to make their decisions for them."
He said it matter of factly, declaring that this would not be the end of this, but also, a message. "And I know my dear cousin won't just sit idly by and let you dictate her decisions."
Sirius sighed. "All these years and you still haven't learned and here I thought your sister would have helped you with your outlook on life."
* * *
"Who would I be to deny that?" she said with a small laugh. The emotion had settled and now, now she just felt at peace with herself. It was a good feeling. SHe took his hand again, standing and pulling him up with her. She sighed at herself, looking at the cottage. "We should leave them be."
She poked her head in the door.
"...and here I thought your sister would have helped you with your outlook on life."
Well, that was awkward. "We're going go back up to the castle now..."
Sirius waved her off with a grin."Don't do anything I wouldn't do."
Rose glared, "next time. It'll be me hexing you, Sirius Black."
She shut the door promptly, turning towards Elias. "Shall we?"

Remus was just about to respond when Rose poked her head in the door and spoke. He paused and allowed the two to exchange a few words and waved to Rose when she left.
Elias, on the other hand was almost vibrating with excitement, grinning at those inside the cottage. “Let’s.” He kissed her cheek, squeezing her hand lightly. “You have no idea how happy you’ve made me.”
---
Back in the cottage, Remus had waited for the door to close and turned around towards the two again. “Look, Sirius, we can discuss this later. When… we’re alone.” He glanced at Tonks and gave her a small smile. “I haven’t seen my sister before this year started in a long time. I left, I was sure she didn’t want anything to do with me. You surely noticed when she was talking before. She’s like me. I should have been there to protect her but I wasn’t.”
He took a seat on the couch finally and ran a hand through his hair. “There’s too much we need to do, unless you want to be in hiding for the rest of your life. Unless you’re content with never finding Peter and having your revenge. I can’t be distracted by anything, or anyone.”
Post by Nymphadora Tonks on Jul 27, 2018 22:24:27 GMT
Tonks was honestly content to see how this played out, she was still writing her report of Dumbledore and besides Remus glancing in her direction, a soft smile; she had seemed to have melted into the background. This was fine, they needed this moment. She pretended not to be paying attention to them as they bickered on and she smiled.
"Hadn't seen her..." Sirius' brow furrowed. "Remus, the last time I saw the two of you together she was attached to your hip! Inseparable!" Shock really wasn't quite the right word, anger was close, but he quieted it, reigning it in. "You left her? Your own sister? To deal with it on her own? I'm going to assume you've seen where you went all wrong with that one already."
There were so many questions he wanted to ask. How did your dad handle that? What about Ameile? Well, it's obvious how they handled it, a fair bit better than the last time, obviously. Probably all thanks to Ameile.
He frowned again, looking to his cousin who seemed to be ignoring them. "Oh, I'm sure we'll find him. Like you said, I have capable people behind me now. No more halfbaked planed from Padfoot. You're at the helm, now, Moony."
Remus swallowed having figured that would be the reaction from any of his past friends but for the past 12 years they were dead or a traitor, so he didn’t expect to have to face these reactions. He pursed his lips and covered his face.
“Yes, I left her. I’m a cursed being. Its my fault she was turned, Sirius. If I stayed around, things would have gotten much worse. I couldn’t – I couldn’t stand my parents. I yelled at Amelie the day I left. And you know how I am – I don’t yell very often…” He almost looks ashamed as he covers his face, leaning while he sat on the couch. “How could I look at her without constantly thinking ‘its my fault she’s cursed’? How could I look at her and – and feel anything but crushing guilt? You were gone. James was dead. Peter – well I thought he was dead too. I was alone. What if someone went after her in the aftermath to get back at me? What if they did the same thing they did to the Longbottoms to my family? I couldn’t let that happen.”
He shook his head. “That’s precisely why – why my relationship with Dora will be… not at all what you’re thinking Sirius.”
Post by Nymphadora Tonks on Jul 27, 2018 23:02:43 GMT
"Your fault?" Sirius barked out a laugh. "I wasn't under the impression you were the one telling Greyback what to do. Really, Remus, you've really got to stop doing this to yourself."
There was a snap from behind him and Sirius turned to see his cousin, eyes blazing, a small smirk appeared on his face as he gave a large over an exaggerated yawn. "Say, Nym, darling, that guest room? I think I'll take a kip."
"End of the hall," she said, eyes still hadn't left Remus. Sirius looked to Remus, "I'll leave you two be. It's been a while since I've been able to sleep in a warm bed."
Sirius vanished and Tonks set down the now broken in half quill, her exterior mood calm from the form she was feeling on the inside. Her voice was low as she spoke. "I hope you aren't planning what I think you're planning, Remus Lupin."
Remus was just about to speak up against Sirius and what he said about Greyback when he heard the snap. This was why he wanted to wait until Dora was out of the room. He knew he was in trouble. He just let Sirius leave, saying nothing on the matter, returning Dora’s gaze.
“I – that depends on what you think I’m planning, Dora,” Remus swallowed looking down quickly, not wanting to look her in the eye. “I’m sorry – I took advantage of you earlier. For my own selfish impulses. We can’t keep getting distracted with each other. It’ll wind up with someone dead, or worse.”
Post by Nymphadora Tonks on Jul 28, 2018 0:07:13 GMT
Her brow twitched. Yep, he was doing it again. She was trying to stay calm. It wouldn't do to turn this into a shouting match. She knew what she was getting into. Just re-establish, Dora.
"There was no taking advantage of anyone, Remus, that was a mutual agreement. One that I would particularly like to repeat."
She sighed. "Look, I know that you're feeling like you failed Dumbledore because of this. But, if I hadn't have been here; if Rose hadn't have been here, would it have every honestly occurred to you that the truth you believed to be true, was flawed? He was in the wrong place at the wrong time - right time for us, to be honest, but. So what that Rose was the one that came across him? We haven't failed anyone. We've found and apprehended Sirius. That was the objective. Regardless of how it happened."
She had moved from her spot towards him, taking his hand in hers. "Now we just have to wait until Peter decides to reappear. With Sirius apprehended, it'll make the job easier. Let's just make sure we find Peter, okay? No one has failed anyone."
Pinching his nose with his free hand he tried to ignore her taking his hand in hers and the warm feeling it brought. The want to just say screw it all, and kiss her again, but his stupid head was getting in the way of his heart, the guilt that was weighing on him.
“I owe Dumbledore my whole life. It was because of him I was able to go to school. It was because of him I didn’t end up like every other wolf out there. I did fail Dumbledore. I’m supposed to be here not just to teach – my job is to also protect Harry and – and get to the bottom of what exactly happened that night. I can’t just go up to him and say my sister found the man I was looking for because I was distracted by a beautiful lady.”
He smiles at her but its more… sad than anything else. Smiles usually indicated happiness but he looked sadder than usual with this smile. “That’s the problem Dora. When I’m around you, I – I lose track of everything. I get lost in… you. I forget everything else and focus on you. Peter could dance naked in front of me and taunt me, but if I’m with you, I won’t even notice.” Well that was an unpleasant image he just conjured up. He shook the image away. “In another time, in another life, I would want to repeat that… ‘agreement’ as you called it, all the time. But right now, in this life… I can’t – there’s too much at stake here.”
