we are a low word count, any level of experience rp set in harry's 3rd year at hogwarts. students and adults alike are welcome! given we are set fairly early in the series, everything that happens from this point on will be up to us! perhaps sirius black will be cleared and peter arrested, or perhaps something darker lurks in the shadows...

"Madam Maxine will be too!" she giggled. "Oh, and Fleur; poor girl. She tutored me for weeks trying to prepare me for a retest but it just wouldn't happen. I was too..."
She shook her head. "It doesn't matter anymore, I'm better now."
She turned and threw her arms around him again. "And I'm glad you're the first person that saw it for its first time. I'm sixteen and according to Hogwarts charm and DADA curriculum, I should be able to produce it anyways. So, I'm glad I'm not so behind anymore. Now I can finally move onto apparating, good lord."
She smirked, "that said, you'll mark that down as me passing for the next couple of weeks, won't you, Professor? And I can skip homework?"
Remus was smiling and chuckling with her story, accepting and returning the embrace. Despite still having his reservations, as nothing like this could change overnight, he did feel at least a little bit better. Things were changed just a little bit. He was only willing to give her a little bit of room, but that room made all of the difference. He had felt like he was in the middle of an ocean barely able to keep his head above the water, but just now he helped himself onto a piece of floating wood, better than before, and not feeling like he was going to die from all of the forces of nature acting on him, but not quite like he had felt before when he was at school. After all, she was family and like him, everyone else was a different story.
“Ha!” He basically barked out the laugh when she suggested her passing marks and homework excusal, almost sounding a bit wolfish when he did so. “You have to earn those marks on the curriculum, not on studies outside of it. Magical creatures, grindylows, merpeople, hinkypunks, that’s what will give you good marks.” His voice was stern but with a playful undertone to it as he smirked back at her. He pulled out a quill and a piece of paper. “Although if you insist on not doing your homework, I could just cut out the constant asking you for it and mark you as failing…”

"Aw man!" she said, feigning a defeated sigh. "Well it was worth a try I suppose."
She gave him a pouty look, "what about a couple of extra credit points?"
Another eyebrow waggle, "no, no, I'll do my homework and the million foot essays..."
She gave a half-hearted groan before her watch went off.
"Aaaand speaking of classes, it's time for potions and Professor Snape absolutely loathes it when I'm late. She pressed another kiss to his cheek before taking a few steps away from him, "don't do anything I wouldn't do!"
She gave a wink and turned and ran out of the office.
Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do? So, she was basically just giving him a blank check. He laughed watching her leave, feeling like a weight had been lifted off his chest. He looked at the blank piece of parchment and then at the time. He still had a short time before his first class started, not enough for a nap, but…
He slowly wrote in his curvy handwriting: ‘Amelie’. He took in a deep breath staring at the blank note for a while, wondering what he could even say. It wasn’t even clear to him if he would end up sending the letter or not, but he wanted to at least get these feelings out of him. Not even sure what the first line could be, or what exactly those feelings he had been bottling up he just stared, a drip of the ink blotting the parchment. After several minutes he finally mustered up the courage to write at least a little bit.
Amelie,
It’s Remus. I know I have not written or even communicated with you in some time and for that I apologize. You know my feelings towards you and my father, but I do still hold fondness for both of you. You were there after my mother passed to help myself and my father through tough times. For that I am grateful. I believe avoiding the elephant in the room for now is the wisest choice until I feel comfortable writing about it so that is exactly what I am going to do.
Rose is an exceptional witch and I am proud of the young woman she is turning into, not that she wasn’t an amazing girl before, of course. Despite everything, I hope you are proud of her, because I am. You have done a good job since then of raising my little sister. I hope some day I will feel comfortable to talk to you in person, but until then, I suppose this letter should suffice.
Remus
As he ended the letter he looked at the time and rubbed his eyes. He crumpled the letter up and placed it into a waste bin near his desk to vanish later. Picking up a book for today’s lesson he left his office to prepare for class as the first of his students began to file in.
