Rose had indeed sought her out shortly after leaving Remus that day. Guilty and apologetic, but also ecstatic at the development between her and her brother. It seemed that things were falling into place, at least in Rose's mind. "Everyone deserves their chance at happiness;" she had said. "Especially Remus. He's gone through so much; I've done all I can. I'm glad you're providing him with a happiness I couldn't dream of providing."
She had smiled and left then, but it wasn't the last Tonks saw of her; as it seemed Rose had given herself the mission of conveniently 'crossing their path' every so often just to catch them together. It was actually kind of sweet. Rose seemingly knew every secret tunnel too and seemed to use them to move about the castle quickly herself.
However, today would find the two of them in the courtyard. She was among the last to leave the grounds for their visit to Hogsmeade, and Tonks had just arrived to wait for Remus. She had waggled her brow in that teasing way... which ended up with Rose having a face full of snow... which ended up... well, with the current situation.
They were on opposite sides of the frozen over the fountain that resided in the middle, each attempted to go around it to hit each other with the snowball in hand.
"You're not gonna be able to hide behind that thing forever, Rose! You'll need to come out sometime!" "Speak for yourself, Tonks!"
There was the sound of snow hitting a sold surface, but it was not a hit.
"Aw, come on! How do you move so fast?" "How do you think, Tonks?"
Giggling filled the courtyard as the two continued their snowy war.
Remus had been very nervous recently, probably because this thing with Tonks had gotten fairly serious. There were a lot of things going through his head, and he was wondering if he needed to just end it all. It would make things so much easier…
However, when he went to go meet her for their outing, having bundled himself up, he found himself near one of the entrances to the courtyard, hearing the snow before he saw the snowball fight. One of the snowballs flew nearby where he was standing, and he chuckled softly to himself. Well, they were like a couple of kids fighting out there. How childish.
Zoom.
The snowball flew for Rose’s back. When they would look for where it came from, well, they’d see Remus standing there with a snowball in his hand ready to throw. However, just as this happened, the smiling older man felt a snowball pelt the back of his head and he turned to see a blonde haired young man.
“Elias.” Remus said grinning before looking to the two others.
“Brother.” Elias replied throwing a snowball and accidentally hitting the fountain. “Now that you are here, I will be collecting Rose.” He walked up hugging the professor with a quick brotherly hug.

Rose screeched at the cold permeated the sweater she wore and she spun around, looking for her attacker. "Oh! Well-"
Her eyes turned to Tonks, a smirk upon her lips. "We'll resume this later, yes?"
Tonks, blushing faintly - but one could say it was just from the biting cold, the slight colour on her cheeks - nodded, a smile playing on her own lips, as she retreated from the fountain. However, there was a sudden sharp coldness that attacked the back of her neck and she spun around to see Rose dusting off her hands, a grin playing on her lips. A mischevious light took over Tonk's eyes. "That was cheating."
Rose grinned, "you were distracted, not my problem. Constant Vigilance! C'mon Elias, you owe me dinner."
Rose's attention turned to her brother then, as she gave him a wink and mouthed, quite obnoxiously, 'adult things' before taking Elias by the hand and nodding very obviously towards the exit of the courtyard.
Once the two had left, Tonks turned to Remus, her smile bright as ever. "She would make a good Auror, your sister."
Not necessarily how she wanted to start out this evening, but it was a true thought. Moving on from the thought, she approached him, "how are you feeling?"
Well there was the deepest blush he’d ever had really when Rose mouthed that. He was about to stammer out something regarding it, but then Elias gave him a wink and he remembered they weren’t alone and he couldn’t really show such… weakness. Elias soon led Rose away, and that just left Remus and Tonks there alone. He slowly walked a bit closer to Tonks wearing a smile, his blushing slowly starting to fade, though the cold didn’t help his cheeks not be a little pink.
“Yes, she would,” He looks off thoughtfully for a moment, thinking that while yes, she would… it wouldn’t be possible. She was a werewolf, working for the ministry, especially with those more recent restrictions passed by that witch, Dolores Umbridge he thought was the name he had read, it would make it completely impossible. Unless something big happened and changed a lot of what was going on, there would be no way. And Remus felt sad… and guilty about that.
“Feeling? Well, nervous. Very nervous. I – Well, I feel nervous anytime I’m around you to be honest. I haven’t… done this before, you know? I don’t know what to expect exactly… though if it goes anything like that time on the first of November…” He grinned, reaching out to lace his arms around her shoulders looking down since she was a bit shorter than he was. The look in his eyes was one of joy, love, and really? He was sure if anyone saw him like this, they’d wonder where Professor Lupin went, and who this happy guy was replacing him. He looked younger than he normally did, despite the little bits of grey that had flecked his hair prematurely.

Once she qualified, she wouldn't mind having Rose as a companion, and despite known knowledge, Tonks was actually a fast learner and a thorough teacher. She had actually mentioned such a thought to Moody the other day and he had a gleam in his eyes that told her agreed with her thinking. "Good to be watching these kids;" he had said. "Watch them for their talents. Can't argue with you on that Rose Hunter girl. She's tough. Brought up by a good family. Very skilled. Just gotta shake the recklessness out of her which will come with time and as she matures."
She honestly hadn't even thought of the restrictions. Well, that was something that was gonna need to change, of course. But now was not the time for thinking of changing the world.
He was nervous and openly honest about it. There were just so many things she loved about this man before her and he just kept adding to them. She smiled warmly, love and adoration on her eyes as his arms settled around her shoulders, her hands coming up to rest on his chest.
"I was more inquiring on your physical health -" she giggled softly, giving him a playful wink. "As for me. I am with you, so I am quite content."
Those hands on his chest moved to his neck, a pleasant shudder running down her spine at the feeling of his warmth. Her eyes clearly inviting him to kiss her, if he so shall pleased.
“Oh.” He said it in an overexaggerated way, his grin never disappearing. His eyes drifted towards her lips which were very much inviting and he leaned in close to answer the actual question first. “Physically, I’m recovered. A bit sore, but nothing to really complain about.” He chuckled, their lips very close at this point, feeling her against him, the warm sensation of their contact, her hands against his bare skin. Slowly he started to close the distance, but –
He quickly pulled away, almost shooting away from her like a rocket, making the distance about an arm’s length away. Glancing to the side, he spotted the student he heard walking by. They didn’t seem to be looking at the couple, but he still was blushing profusely and looking away from Tonks for several moments until the student had gotten out of visual range. “S-Sorry about that.” His voice was low and the tone guilty. “I thought… they had all gone already.”

All contact was suddenly removed and the warmth left and she resisted the urge to sigh. She smiled lovingly at him. They were in an open courtyard, there were chances of people coming through at any moment. And to be honest, what was so inappropriate? They were two adults. She giggled, regardless, reaching out to link fingers with him. "I understand, it's fine. How about a walk, until we're sure they're all gone? Hm?"
She stepped away from him, walking towards the fountain she had just been using earlier as a shield, her eyes lighting up with an idea, bubblegum pink hair turning a darker shade of pink. "Or..."
She swiped up some of the snow that had collected on the fountain edge and tossed it at him. "Think fast!"
To him it was a matter of professionalism, he couldn’t be seen snogging someone when he was the professor of so many students. It just wasn’t what a professional would do. His job and his personal life had to keep separate, though honestly, he knew his time here was going to be over after the next term, or at least as the professor. No one kept his job for more than a year and he was just worried what would end up being the end of this.
Maybe… if no one found out he could take up one of the positions that were opening up as a partner professor, teaching half the students while the other taught the other half. He was pretty good at Charms, though he thought he could manage Transfiguration as well. Either way, he wouldn’t be able to teach DADA and he’d likely not be able to be at this school anymore. He had no idea what he would do after this either. What job he would work.
“A walk sounds lov –“ Just as he was speaking he was cut off by a snowball hitting him in the chest. “Oh that’s not fair.” He laughed quickly retreating around the fountain from her gathering up snow himself and throwing it towards her. “You’ve started a war, Dora.”

"You know what they say," she said, laughing, only barely dodging the snow thrown at her as she aimed her own towards him. "All's fair in love and war."
She gave him a flirtatious wink. She knew it made her seem more childish. But what's a little fun in the snow? Live a little, you know. She giggled as the war ensued, dodging around the fountain and ducking the snowballs thrown at her as they went.
“Ah, John Lyly, his work is pretty good,” Good job Remus, you know that’s not where she knows it from. He was mostly teasing her at this point. “I didn’t take you to be a poetry fan.” He chuckled as he geared up for war, narrowly dodging her throws with ducking and weaving and oh no, that soreness had gotten him hit once.
This childishness, well, it wasn’t a bad thing. In fact, it was helping him reclaim that part of himself that he never really got to live out – the child within who never got to be free even while he was at Hogwarts, though it was released from time to time given his friends. He still had been incredibly careful all the time, never really letting himself… just relax and have fun.
“It’s not the will to win, but the will to prepare to win that makes the difference, my dear Dora,” He is working on making several snowballs as he dodges and hides behind the fountain.

Tonks was always a fan of the simpler things in life and this snowball war was in that category. The poor fountain was getting the brunt of their... tension though.
She giggled, "well, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised...that I'll just keep surprising you." Never a dull moment with tonks. It's either her tripping over something, breaking something, setting something on fire... morphing into teachers... a million possibilities."
She snickered, launching a renewed attack on him. "But it is unfortunate that I'm very competitive. So while you may be correct, I'm still gonna win."
She dodged his snowballs again, before rounding up more snow for her next attack.
“Then I shall look forward to it, Dora,” He laughs as he begins his assault in a calculated manner, an idea forming in his mind, throwing one but then hiding it via wandless magic on the ground behind her. He was an accomplished wizard and could use things like this for small things, and while this was a bit of a waste of that talent, he took joy in it. He hadn’t felt this young since he was in Hogwarts with his friends.
“In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity.” There he was, quoting another person. One of these days he should come up with something clever he could call his own. He’d think on that, but for now, he used both hands to throw snowballs at her, before using wandless to send that hidden snowball right for her back.

"I would hope so!" she says with a smile. "Because if you're unaware, I'm here for keeps."
There was a spark in his eye, that lit up something within her but also alerted to an air of mischief she was none all accustomed too. She was about to launch her next attack before she was attacked from the front and the back simultaneously and she screech-giggled, dropping all her snow and dashing over to him, breathless, eyes wild. "Okay, okay. I give. You with this battle."
For keeps. He wondered for a moment if she knew exactly what that would mean for her. After all, he was very much… a cursed fellow. He knew of only one child of a werewolf, and he didn’t know exactly what her symptoms were, but he was too afraid he’d pass on the curse. They couldn’t have kids – did she realize that? Did she realize how much he feared passing it on to a child? They didn’t know what would happen. Regardless, for now, he was going to be content with their relationship. If something like that came up… well, they would talk about it then.
Nearly falling but managing to catch himself and hold the two of them up. “I may have won the battle, but have I won the war? You’ve already won my heart, my body, my soul, what more could you win from me? I think this war is won by you, my dear.”

She gave a thoughtful hum, settling against him, chest still falling and rising at an accelerated rate.
Had she really, really, won though? The way he was talking it was almost like she had, but something in her said it could be upheaved at any moment. She wrapped her arms around him, pressing her cheek against his chest just over his heart. She closed her eyes briefly, to savour the short moment.
She pulled away smiling up at him, "have I really? That was really cheesy."
She smirked at him, attempting to hold back giggles.
