They were headed back to the school, on a much less travelled path, away from the swell of students. Rose was much like her brother. She liked seclusion. For certain things. This time, it was because she and Elias were nursing a bottle of Firewhiskey she had managed to charm one of the adults visiting the town into getting her from the Hogshead. Suffice to say, she was at the giggly drunk stage. She wasn't sure how it was effecting Elias, French pedigree and everything. She heard they could hold their liquor much better than the British and she was all British. She was leaning heavily on him, trying to reach for the drink (which at this point, seemed he was preventing her from getting).
"Eliaaaaas, no fair, you've had it for a while now. I got that for us to share, dammit!"
She hiccuped, they were headed back towards the castle, she knew, slowly. They would need to move slower. If McGonagall... or hell, if Remus caught her like this (though it was under much better circumstances this time), she wouldn't stop hearing about it for months. Damn over-protective brother. She mused to herself. However, she wasn't so drunk as her surroundings were completely oblivious to her and a black mass caught her eye on her right side and she spun towards it, wand at the ready, thinking it was a dementor. However, it wasn't a dementor. Just a big... black... dog?
"Elias! Look!"
It seemed she had sobered immediately (this wasn't the cast at all), but her concern was forefront in her mind as she dashed through the snow and towards the collapsed being. It was indeed a dog. Big, but worryingly thin, matted, and shivering. Rose frowned. What was a stray dog doing all the way out here? Like this? She ordered Elias back to the Three Broomsticks to get her a turkey leg and water and to return quickly. Once he returned she began to offer the dog the strips of meat.
"We should get him to the castle. He needs a warm bath. Then maybe I can bring him back here to Tonks."
Damn it's cold. Thought Sirius, shaking the snow out of his fur again. He had come to Hogsmeade to stalk it's edges, to see if he could catch a glimpse at Harry. But once again, he seemed absent. His brows furrowed. He would be in his third year, right? He should be here. A stupid grin came over his face. Maybe he had gotten detention for pulling some epic prank or something. He would be so much like James. But damn! Cold! He also hadn't eaten in god knows how long. He was headed back towards his usual hiding spot when the edges of his vision began to blur. Oh, damn...
Honestly, he wondered why the combination of the weather and his lack of food source took so long to catch up to him. He flopped over in the snow with a soft crunch, breathing laboured.
"Elias, look!"
His attention was caught a few minutes later by the sound of a girl, sixth year, if he judged right, coming towards him. She looked about sixteen. Something about her face also struck him familiar. Or was it her eyes? With their blue-grey? Almost like...moons? Moony? Oh, yeah, he was delirious now. Thinking some girl was Moony. Her face screwed up in worry in the same way too. Now that was freaky. Who was the bird, anyway? She was fussing over him and suddenly he smelt it. Roast turkey. If he had been a greater man, he would've refused it. His pride taking precedence. But he was near death and it was Madam Rosmerta's speciality.... he gently took the proffered food, lapping up the water. He was still cold, but soon, he had enough strength to lift his head and sit up.
Once he sat up, he took account of the two students that came across him. Particularly the girl, her eyes full of concern. Her eyes were painfully reminding her of Remus and he couldn't point out why. He mind was reeling. Was this a daughter? He tried to do the math. No, no. That would've meant he would have had to impregnate someone and there was no chance of that. But he couldn't place why she looked so much like Moony. He never mentioned a sister.
His eyes trailed over to the other kid. Also a sixth year, boy. Suddenly a growl rose up within him noting the boys' particular closeness to Rose. His hand was on her shoulder. Much too intimate.
Where had that come from? He'd just met the girl. But other than her likeness to an old friend, there was also something else about her, causing a wave of protectiveness.
But the girl's next words set him on edge.
"We should get him to the castle. He needs a warm bath. Then maybe I can bring him back here to Tonks."
Tonks? Nymphadora? Did she know his cousin? Was she here in Hogsmeade? Nymphadora didn't know he was an animagus. Why didn't he think of that sooner? Oh. Right. He didn't know she was here. Why was she here? He tried to think of any newspapers he'd come across. Oh, right. She was here as part of her training. Smart move, on them, for once. It was better than those Dementors being in the castle. Easier for him as well. She may be one of the best and youngest Aurors but he could still move around her just as easily.
The girl looked back at him, running her fingers through the matted fur on his head. He leaned into the touch. When was the last time he had human contact? She smiled at him and he knew there was something more to her than just looking like Remus.
The girl turned towards the boy, "yeah, let's get him to the castle and to Moaning Myrtle's bath. No one will bother us there."
The seemed to nod in agreement and the girl stood and she looked to him, "follow me, yeah?"
Against his better judgement, he nodded.
She and the boy noticed this, but seemed to think nothing of it, or at least he thought they thought nothing of it, because there had been a slight narrowing of the girls eyes.
With that, they set through Hogsmeade, though a less populated part, he noticed, passin a cottage just as two familar people were coming out of it, hand in hand...
Elias was most definitely drunk, he was just much better at not showing it. Or perhaps that was a way of saying he always acted drunk? Either way he was nursing the drink in his hands, having looked at her when she said he had it for a while.
“Not true! I just got it!” He held it away from her, taking a swig and then giving it to her. He had such a soft spot for that girl, it was a wonder that he hadn’t asked her out officially yet. Oh, maybe he should do that now! That would be amazing and –
“Elias, look!”
What was he thinking about again? His eyes followed her finger to see a dog. He soon became excited completely forgetting about whatever he was taking about before. He quickly followed Rose’s lead and started shaking his head at everything she had suggested. He loved dogs! And this one was so cute and stuff and deserved to be warm by a fire.
“Moaning Myrtle is soooo cool. She always gives me compliments and stuff! She said I could share her toilet one time!” Elias seemed to be somewhat excited to be going to Moaning Myrtle. Some people found her annoying and creepy, but Elias really liked that she stroked his ego. He enjoyed compliments by people that weren’t himself even if they were from a ghost who took over a bathroom.
--------
To say Remus enjoyed their date would be the understatement of a century. He loved it and never wanted it to end, but he had to grade some papers and so he had eventually convinced Tonks to let him go to get his papers. After all, his job was incredibly important to him and she understood that, even if they had just shared an amazing date that had not gone like he planned at all.
Not that he was complaining.
Remus had exited the cottage, holding Tonks’s hand, placing a kiss on her cheek before his eyes turned towards the castle where he would be heading. He honestly didn’t want to be leaving her right now – he wanted to spend every second he could with her – but all thoughts of everything except one thing ceased when he saw it:
That dog. With Rose. Elias. Remus blinked several times before quickly rushing towards the pair, not sure if Tonks was following, though he assumed she would when she saw the look on his face.
“Where did you – Where did you find him?!” Remus was looking at the dog ready to chase him if he ran off.

Rose rolled her eyes at Elias' babbling, finding it adorably annoying. He was silly when drunk, that was for sure. "Maybe..... maybe firewiskey was too much for your thin French... blood Elias."
She chuckled, shaking her head continuing their way back to the cast.
They didn't get far though, because suddenly REmust was there and she was staring at him through narrowed eyes as he began to question her.
"Find who Remus? It's just a dog. Are you okay?"
She most definitely wasn't. But her brothers' actions worried her. "Aren't you supposed to be snogging Tonks senseless or something right now?"
She did not have any tact what so ever when she was drunk, she kneeled down in the snow wrapping her arms around the dog's neck. "Look at him! he's all kin and bones. I was gonna get him in, clean and fed before bringing him back to Tonks. Can't have dogs at Hogwarts, but he should be in somewhere warm, not out in this dreadful cold!"
* * *
"As long as you bring him right back," Tonks interjected and Rose looked at her intensely. Remus looked as if he were about to say something but she hushed him. "McGonagall is probably gonna have a conniption if she even finds you bringing it in."
Even Tonks could tell that Rose wasn't.... firing all pistons, as they say. Maybe just a tad drunk But Rose nodded in response at her as Tonks looked to the dog. Could it really be him? Could it really be that he'd pulled himself into the open this easily? The dog wasn't looking at her but was staring at Remus with the same intensity that Remus was staring at it. Well that confirmed it.
"Actually, it's probably better that you just use the tub at my place," and then I can set up the proper charms.
Rose nodded again, she was still holding the dog, semi-glazed eyes narrowed at her brother.
Elias was most definitely a silly drunk, but honestly, he was silly all the time when he wanted to be. Drunkess just… made him always want to be silly, even if he didn’t realize he was trying to be silly. “Brother, do you not like doggos?” He literally just said the word ‘doggos’ aloud. “How can you not? They’re so cute and cuddly much like you – you know, during your uh…” He tried to think of a way to say it without just literally saying it, but Remus cut him off.
---
“Just – Just get him into the cottage, now.” Remus’s voice was even, but his eyes were filled with a burning passion. He would get his answers, at least partial ones. He just had to convince Sirius to talk to him. He wasn’t going to let this chance slip from his fingers – either he would avenge his friends today or get one back. “You wouldn’t want Professor McGonagall to give you detention for bringing that dog in. And – And its closer.” His heat was beating quickly in his chest, everything the last twelves years had led him to this moment – and it wasn’t even him who found him – it was his drunk sister and her friend while he was off doing… things.

She let Rose and Elias into the cottage and then shut the door. She knew where things were, so she'd get situated quickly.
Tonks set her gaze on Remus, who had seemed to have lost it too, placing a hand comfortingly on his arm. Did she feel guilty that Rose had just happened upon him? Not particularly. Happy accident. However this also confirmed a few things in her mind, that Sirius was not after anyone - well, Harry, in this case. Would that mean he was after the rat too? Bad form to be caught by a couple of sixteen-year-olds though but not many know that path she was taking back to the castle. They were obviously trying to skirt teachers as well. Seems all great minds think alike.
"Remus," she was serious now, even given what had just happened not even twenty minutes ago, giving him a knowing look before turning back to her cottage, pulling her wand out and casting the protection charms.
* * *
She and Elias were shoved inside, it was still warm in here, which was good. She was pulling off layers. Fire plus firewiskey made a person over warm, you know? Once free of her jacket and jumper, she patted the dog on the head, indicating for it to follow her again. She had crashed here on occasion before her dark moment, escaped the castle. Flitwick seemed to have thought nothing of it. She was pushing up the sleeves of her shirt looking to Elias. She frowned, pushing him into a chair.
"You should probably just sit there. You're even drunker than I am and that's saying a lot."
She pulled herself away and lead the dog to the bathroom, warming up the water in the bath, looking to the dog. "Are you really Sirius Black?"
The dog looked at her. Nodded.
She blinked, "so, you're not just some regular dog I found randomly wandering the outskirts of Hogsmeade?"
He shook his head. "Figures. Better me than Harry I suppose. He probably would've have given you the same welcoming. Though Remus might chew you out."
She and the dog caught eyes for a moment she seemed to understand his unspoken question, "oh. That's right, you must not remember me well. We probably did only meet briefly. I was only just a baby... "I'm Remus' sister, Rose."
"i'm Remus' sister, Rose."
He had gathered that much by now. But hearing her say it seemed to confirm it in his mind. There was a memory forming before his eyes, as he looked at her.
"Blimey Remus, the way you fawn over her, she might as well be your daughter. Here, lemme hold her for a bit, I haven't gotten a good look at her."
Remus had rolled his eyes, slipping the baby into Sirius' arms, "shut up Padfoot."
A baby girl lay in his arms, a memory of happier days and he remembered being awestruck when she had looked up at him, blue eyes quizzical. She really was something. Sirius had to stamp down the jealousy rising in him. Remus had a new baby sister. James and Lily were happily married. It was almost like life was perfect...
. . . .
The memory changed, it was three years later and Remus had a giggling Rose on his shoulders as they walked through Godric's Hollow, towards Lily's and James'. They had just announced the birth of their son, Harry Potter.
"Rem," came her small voice. "Do you think he's gonna be cute?"
"All babies are adorable, Rose."
"No, I mean..."
Sirius couldn't help the bark of laughter at Remus' mortified look. Seriously, sometimes with the overprotective tendencies, he got a bit... fatherly.
Full recognition filtered into Sirius' eyes then and Rose smiled.
"Well this isn't going to be weird at all now, hop in." Rose moved to the side, allowing Sirius to clamber into the tub.
* * *
Protection charms cast, she turned back to Remus. "I know that you're probably put off by the fact that she found him first, but wouldn't you think it's a little better this way? He would've never suspect Rose as to being anything but another student. We were actively looking for him - he knew that which is why he avoided us so easily. Rose on the other hand, just happened to be coming by, saw a creature in need. That creature being the one we've been searching for was an added bonus, but I swear to you if you're getting all self-depreciative because of earlier I will hex you into tomorrow."
“Oo-key, doo-key,” Elias said with a laugh, sitting down and rubbing his head while Rose went to bathe the dog. She was always so nice to him, and while yes, he had a bit too much to drink, he also enjoyed Rose taking care of him, looking out for him. Also, because he didn’t want to get himself dirty while trying to clean the dog. His perfect hands couldn’t work on scrubbing him down. He’d get too grossed out and given his stomach was already weak from the alcohol, well that wasn’t a good idea. He’d just get the dog even messier.
---
“It’s not that she found him first, Dora, its –“ He looked at her with a sad look, “It would have been different if I was out there looking for him when she found him. Instead I was – we were –“ He wore a look of just… utter despair. He could feel himself starting to tell himself the nastiest things – not even when he was down like this would he actually say everything that came to his head.
“I don’t regret what we did, but – I regret slacking on my duties for personal… fun. It was very irresponsible.”
Post by Nymphadora Tonks on Jul 27, 2018 7:52:17 GMT
"Yeah, it would've been different. Part of me feels like he would've bolted. Then what?"
Her eyes narrowed at him, "we were living, Remus. No one is going to fault you on that. Plus, we still have to catch this Rat of yours, that seems like that'll be the tricker bit anyways."
She wasn't going to let him sink this, not even twenty minutes ago they had been in each other's arms. Happy. No way was she going to let him do this to himself. She slipped her hand into his and opened her door. "Well, let's go talk to him."
* * *
That was certainly an adventure, Rose mused to herself. It was as if he had years - twelve of them, mind you - worth of dirt caked into his fur. If she had done it purely the muggle way, it would've taken hours, but a few well-placed spongifys had that dirt out quick. They entered the living room just as Remus and Tonks did, and Rose dropped the towel she was holding on the dogs head then went over and took a seat next to Elias, fussing over him now.
"Might as well get it over with yeah? And be mindful of the towel; if this is anything like werewolf transformation, I, as a young lady do not need to be seeing things of an adult nature."
There was a pop and a bark of a laugh, "cheeky, your sister. Hello Remus, Nymphadora."
There stood, wrapped in a towel, looking freshly bathed, was Sirius Black.
“Then I would stopped him. Impedimenta or some other spell.” Remus, well he wasn’t sure what he was feeling but right now he was thinking he’d never touch her again. Lest the next time something like this happened, something else would happen. Someone would die or escape or get hurt. He felt… nasty for enjoying himself and letting something like this happen when he should have been on the lookout. He failed his job, he failed Dumbledore.
“I’ll fault me for that. I haven’t lived in twelve years, I could have waited a few days, months, years to live. Or not at all.” Remus, honey, stop it. Yet there were so many thoughts going through his head, many of worse natures – he thought to himself he didn’t deserve to live – his life was only useful when he was needed, and he didn’t deserve any sort of happiness whatsoever. He was a beast, and he was trying to pretend to be human. Knowing these thoughts were false were one thing, but his heart was naïve and kept falling for these words making it feel like something was tugging at his heart.
Remus just walked into the cottage after she said they would go talk to him, not taking her hand, just… hurrying in. Their timing was impeccable, as he entered, Sirius and Rose both came in. It wasn’t long before he transformed. Remus just stared at him for several moments before he spoke. “Don’t call her Nymphadora.” Taking in a deep breath, stilling himself, stopping himself from lunging for him and hugging his old friend, he pulled out his wand, flicking it towards the kitchen. Not long after there were two glasses of what looked extremely gross. “Drink it, Rose. You too Elias.” It wouldn’t make them not drunk, but at least it would help sober them at least a little bit. “We’ll talk about you two kids and alcohol later.”
It was killing him to ignore Sirius Black, the man he had waited 12 years to finally see in front of him again – and well, for 12 years he wanted to kill him. It wasn’t but a few days he had thought of any other possibility. Taking in a deep breath, Remus finally acknowledged Sirius again, his face turning into that of a hurt puppy. “Is he alive?”
Post by Nymphadora Tonks on Jul 27, 2018 8:34:05 GMT
Tonks wanted to groan. Back at square one. She could see it on his face. She said nothing as she followed him in, just as Rose and the dog appeared as well. She watched as Rose sat down, averting her eyes elsewhere as Black morphed back into his human form and for the first time in twelve years, she had set eyes on her cousin. Rose's idea of bathing him first was good, he nearly looked dignified, other than the slightly embarrassed and guilty look he had on his face. She wasn't in awe but couldn't help the surge of want to hug her cousin. She hadn't even the thought to react to the use of her name, Remus did though. She gazed at him lovingly for a moment.
She decided to join the kids, chuckling as Rose pulled a face at the drink given to her.
* * * *
Rose gave her brother a reproachful look as the glass was set down in front of her. She had no idea what sort of concoction it was, but it didn't look pleasant. It smelled awful too. Was this her punishment? Drunk and catching Sirius Black while they were doing adult things? She rolled her eyes, taking up the glass and screwing up her nose, she drank. She drank half of it in one breath and pulled the glass away coughing.
"God, that was worse than wolfbane, what the fuck was that?"
She reached over for her coat, pulling out a bar of chocolate, offering part of it to Elias after he drank his glass.
* * *
Sirius would be lying if he wasn't partly amused by the whole thing. He had missed twelve years, sure. But the dynamic between Rose and Remus was just so seamless, it was nice. Something familiar. She was Lupin to the core though, he noted, what with the chocolate. Though, she had a mouth on here, wonder where that came from... certainly not Remus. Wait, wolfsbane?? A pained expression flitted into Sirius' eyes then as he looked at her. This pretty little bird was afflicted the same way as his old friend? Damn that Greyback!
Speaking of an old friend, his eyes moved from Rose to Remus, eyebrow-raising at the question. "Peter? Yeah."
He seemed almost, sad about it. "But he's been off the radar since Halloween. Nearly had him then..."
Elias was still grimacing at the concoction that had floated in front of him. He looked at Rose, seeing her coughing and was even more deterred from it. However, after receiving a pointed glare from Remus, he pinched his nose and downed… well it looked about like a third of it. He pulled a face of disgust and shook his head, taking a second drink and downing the rest of it. Looks like Elias had practice swallowing… innuendo intended.
After that, he took the chocolate offered and pouted slightly, nibbling on the chocolate bar hoping it would clean his mouth. What person would want to kiss him with that taste in his mouth? Not anyone he would want to be kissing, that’s what. Actually, to be fair, he would – probably because they loved him enough to not care about the nasty ass taste in his mouth on which case he wouldn’t put them through that torture.
---
“That is your punishment for drinking. And it should help a little bit of clearing your mind. Not a cure all, but well… it’s actually my mother’s recipe,” The muggle one was the one he was referring to – Hope. That was a great sign for those two. He shot the pair of them a slightly sinister smile before looking back to Sirius.
Remus took a couple steps towards him and just. Pulled him in for a brotherly hug. One could tell if looking at his face that Remus was relieved, happy, but also in a lot of pain emotionally. “That was dumb of you. You shouldn’t have gone into the castle. Not while everyone was there.” He was holding back his tears of just plain relief as he embraced him.
“If I find out you’re lying, I’ll kill you,” He whispered in Sirius’s ear before raising his voice again to a normal level, “It’s been… so long. 12 years. Have you seen him? Have you seen Harry? He looks so much like his father – but his eyes – his eyes are so much like his mother’s.”

"Well, it did its job, though I think I won't be able to stop tasting it for a week. Muggle remedies, who knew... I wasn't even that drunk. Just a tad over the edge. It's nearly Christmas, Moony."
She said this like it would make any difference to him at all. Christmas or not, it was very irresponsible. But it was fun. At least she wasn't drinking for the same reason as she had been barely a week ago. But she figured after that, the overprotective brother senses were in full force. She averted her eyes though when Remus brought Sirius in for that hug. Feeling awkward, she focused herself on Elias, breaking off pieces of chocolate for him. She didn't bother finishing her... whatever the hell that was. She didn't need any more of it. Though her brain was still a bit fuzzy and she felt as if she were forgetting something. Something crucial. Her eyebrow ticked and she shrugged, damn. She'll remember later.
So she used his nickname too, still, that was nice. Sirius wrapped an arm around Remus, nodding and pulling him into the hug. "Well, you know I was never the brains for the operations, that was all you, Moony."
He chuckled brokenly, "yeah, I saw him, briefly. Right after he blew up his aunt and before getting onto the Knight Bus to the Leaky Cauldron. I haven't been able to properly catch sight of him since. He doesn't seem to be in Hogsmeade..."
"Gongall banned him from that," came Rose's voice. "Since you know, you're out and about."
Sirius snickered, "good 'ol Minnie."
Tonks, at some point, had left and returned with what looked like transfigured women's sleep pants. Rose couldn't help but the childish snicker the escaped her as Sirius returned, changed into them. They had paw prints on them, for heaven's sake!
Okay, maybe she was still a little drunk because said childish snicker erupted into full-on giggles. "I can see why they call you Padfoot now."
"You know, Remus, I've been meaning to ask...." Rose caught the look in Sirius' eyes and blanched, "Rose doesn't happen to have your step-mother's affliction, does she.... because there was a moment when she first appeared to me..."
“That doesn’t change the fact it was extremely irresponsible. For all you knew, there was a killer on the loose who would likely take advantage of the two of you and either kill you or take you hostage.” Cool down there overprotective brother. It was likely the fact he was flooded with emotions right now: happiness, guilt, sadness, overwhelming anxiety, hurt, bliss, all of those things. He was so confused on how he was supposed to be feeling, he was a bit snippy.
“That was quite apparent from all the times you were caught and I was not,” He says this with a light humor to it, and a chuckle after. He remembered the time when he had pulled a prank on his own on Professor McGonagall and Sirius had been blamed for it – of course when Remus tried to admit it was himself, she didn’t believe him and thought he was just standing up for his friend. He felt guilty for it, but even still.
“Yes, well, I’d be careful around here as well, Dementors are crawling everywhere. Do you even have a wand?” Remus pulled out of the hug and gave him a questioning look. “They might not look for you as a dog, but if you slip up…” His face darkened and then he took a step back seeing Tonks enter the room with a pair of sleep pants. He watched her for a moment while Sirius quickly changed into them and then quickly looked away.
Remus soon was standing there staring at Sirius in horror. “Touch my sister and you’ll wish you stayed in Azkaban.” While he had said it with a straight face, he smiled at him and chuckled, showing it was mostly a joke. In all reality he would be very upset if Sirius went for his sister – she was way too young for him and knowing how Sirius was in school… “To answer, yes. She does. She didn’t learn until I told her, but she’s been working on it. Slips out when she’s not at her best.” He glances over at her.

Rose looked to Remus and then to Sirius, dressed in his pawprint pyjama pants. "Killer on the loose, right. Because looking at the two of you now, there is no way Sirius here could hurt a fly."
They looked riddikulus ridiculous, "I can see the Marauder though, prankster, troublemaker, but definitely not a killer. Now, the fact that said actual killer, if I'm understanding the situation here correctly, had been in Hogwarts castle for over two years and in very close quarters with a very young Harry Potter. So forgive me if I'm not shaking in my boots at the prospect of what you call killers. Both Elias and I are more dangerous than a person who's been hiding as a rat for the last twelve years."
Sirius shook his head, "nope, no wand. Thus the traipsing around as a dog."
A brow raised at Remus' reaction as his cousin entered the room again and a doggish grin appeared on his face.
But he latched on to the even stronger reaction about his sister. Grinning mischievously he slipped into the seat next to her on the couch she sat on and she froze, looking at him with wide eyes. His arm slipped around her shoulders pulling her into him.
What in Merlin's name is he doing? Egging him on? Twelve years and the first thing he decides to do is antagonize him???
Her hand was gripping her wand but he gave her a playful grin. Her face was frozen in a look of horror and she was still half poised for her wand. But suddenly, she understood what exactly Sirius was up to. She swiftly arranged her face, horror replacing a shy blush, she said nothing but turned her face away.
"Now Moony, you of all people wouldn't deny someone of their happiness for something as silly as an age gap would you?"
Rose bit her bottom lip to keep from laughing, adding to the shy look as Sirius' hand came up to brush along her jaw.
Tonks wasn't sure exactly what was going on, but it seemed like her cousin and Rose had a suddenly unspoken agreement, and she fully understood as soon as Sirius spoke. Gits, both of them, Tonks mused. But it seemed like Rose embodied a little bit of each of Remus' old friends. Lily's beauty and fire; her own bother's self-sacrificing noble idiocy and it seems Sirius' penchant for troublemaking. She was sure James was in there somewhere.
Rose had shared with her a few stories and it seemed she took it upon herself to weave personality triats of his friends, within herself, but now, that Sirius was here, it was really blinding. Pair with it she was still slightly inebriated so she wasn't quite controlling her charm very well.
She expected the Flipendo hex, but not exactly it's source.
Sirius was sent flying with force, into a wall and the framed pictures of the wall rattled.
Rose's eyes were wide and she stared at a very incensed looking Elias.

“It may come as a surprise to you, Rose. We both fought in a war – we’ve hurt our fair share of people. And might I remind you that ‘killer’ that’s been a rat? He blew up an entire street and killed 12 muggles, framed Sirius for it, cut off his own finger and ran off despite the immense pain losing a finger would bring.” Remus was not one for underestimating his foes – it was something that had kept him alive during the war and the last twelve years. That’s how he had kept the secret for the past 12 years, not underestimating the intellect of his coworkers and leaving before they figured him out.
“I’ll find you one if you promise me not to go to the castle. You have four capable people on your side now, and I won’t deny you your revenge. I know how I felt when I had been denied.” He gave Sirius an even gaze.
Remus’s face went pale when he started cozying up to his sister. While he understood it as a joke, Remus did not find it funny at all. His hand itched to send off a spell in his direction to help set the boundaries, but he couldn’t find it in himself to attack his old friend… especially knowing what he knew now. Sirius had been in Azkaban for 12 years and –
Suddenly he was knocked back and… Remus looked at Elias.

Elias was fuming angry. He had sent off a Flipendo before he even realized he had, though his mind the entire time was chanting to do something about it. Knockback was the best option really, it got his hands off of her and would work as a sort of punishment for misbehaving.
“I don’t care who you are, or where you have been, you should never touch a girl without her spoken or unspoken permission. The instant she shows discomfort, you cease all touching. Even as a joke to an old friend – especially as a joke to an old friend. Girls are not toys to be played with and used as jokes! Even if you are telling the truth, which I know you are not, she looked horrified to begin with! It’s just like I would never kiss her in front of her brother because that would embarrass her!”
Elias tucked his wand into his pants and pointed at Sirius. “If I see you do that again, I will hex you into next year. And I mean it.” He gave him a firm glare and then offered Sirius a hand. “I am glad that you are here and making Brother happy. We haven’t been properly introduced. I am Elias Lefeuvre, a friend of Rose.”

"Yeah, okay, sure. I get that totally," she sighed, shaking her head. "I just wished I'd known, Moony. Do you know how often I used to hang out at the Weasley's? How often I..."
She sighed, there was no time to get all... Remus about things. "At least I know what I'm looking for now. He's probably not in the castle though. Ron keeps saying that it's because of Crookshanks, which might be partially true." She sighed. Though, she couldn't help the grateful smile at being referred to as capable. She half expected to be treated like a kid right now. Too young, too naive, but he had called her capable. "Either way, I'll keep a lookout. If Sirius stays here and vanishes, I'm sure Peter will come out of whatever hiding spot he has, to try and resume whatever he's attempting to do."
Suffice to say, she was shocked. She looked at Sirius, who probably was having a hard time recovering from that because that looked like it hurt. But her eyes slid to Elias. Honestly, she was lost on what to think. She knew he was protective of her, but up until right now, it had been very... almost brotherly. Was it her slightly inebriated brain, or had she been missing something this entire time? Sure, they flirted back and forth... a lot. Probably too much, if Remus had a say about it but that was... attractive.
Her heart thumped in her chest and she watched as he stood to offer Sirius Black his hand. However, the words first out of Sirius' mouth had her blushing like mad.
Sirius groaned from his spot on the floor, holy cow that was one hell of a hex. Had it been that long since he'd been on the receiving end? He looked to the kid who cast it an eyebrow raised. Short to say, he was amused. It was one thing, for Remus to be protective, but then there was this kid; he didn't know who he was, but Remus seemed to know him and Rose seemed rather close to him.
"Friend, huh," he said, looking to Elias and taking the kids hand. "Looks like it's more than that. I ain't been hexed like that by a bird's guy in a very long time."
Sirius righted himself back onto his feet, looking to Remus, "looks like I won't be doing that again."
There was movement behind them, Rose had walked out the door, into the cold.
Sirius looked to Elias, "probably should check on her, mate."

Mind reeling, and looking for something to do to take her mind off... everything for the moment, she looked at her watch. They still had a few hours before dinner. No need to rush. She knelt down, sinking her hands into the snow. She needed to cool off. Honestly, she couldn't believe what was happening. Sure, she flirted with guys, back and forth; but that was... that touched a part of her brain that she wasn't even sure was supposed to be active yet. She was only sixteen! But the obvious display of power had her heart hammering in her chest, and she didn't know what to do with the emotion. She had to do something with it. It was in her fingertips, her lips twitched. Hell, it was there too!
She pulled her hands out of the snow, her fingers thoroughly frozen now. The biting pain of cold still wasn't helping though and she had half a mind to plant herself into the snow. No, that would be undignified.
