1960: Remus Lupin was born.

1965: Lyall Lupin, his father, tried to get Fenrir Greyback arrested, though claiming not to be a werewolf.  He said that werewolves were "soulless, evil, deserving nothing but death", and well, that pissed off the werewolf in the room.  After escaping from the ministry, Greyback attacked Remus while he was sleeping in his room.  This was before his birthday, so around the end of February.  Lyall managed to save Remus's life, but not stop the attack from turning Remus into a werewolf.  

June 1971: Hope and Lyall were approached by Albus Dumbledore offering Remus a spot at the school, and after much deliberation, he was allowed to go.  Lyall refused for awhile but Hope convinced him.  Remus watched this from the other side of a door without his parents realizing it until Dumbledore mentioned him at the end of the conversation.

September 1971: Remus was sorted into Gryffindor and started his monthly travels to the whomping willow so he could transform during the full moon.  He met Sirius, Peter, and James this year and quickly became friends with them though he didn't join in on their pranks very often.  

1972: His friends figured out based on his monthly journeys what he was.  He thought he would be abandoned, but instead they accepted him for what he was and even started learning how to become animagi for him.  He felt he was in their debt for their kindness given he hated what he was - after all his father still hated werewolves and he was one.

1974: His mother fell ill and died during the winter break while Remus was home.  He loved his mother very much and was very much a momma's boy.  His father and he drifted apart after this and became distant.  

1975: The Marauders perfected their animagi forms, and they earned themselves their nicknames.  It was during this year Remus felt immense pride in his friends, and didn't quite feel as alone, especially since it happened not long after his mother died.  It was also this year that they created the Marauder's Map.  

1976: His father met a new woman, Amelie Hunter, who he seemed to fall in love with.  Remus met her and actually liked her quite a bit despite his distant relationship with his father.  No one could replace his mother, but the two of them were more like friends as opposed to mother and son.  His father married Amelie Hunter this year after a few months of dating.

Later in the year, during the second half of the year (okay technically its 1977 but I'm talking the school year that started in 1976), Severus Snape nearly died after following the group on their monthly excursions, leading James to save Severus's life.  Remus thought he would be expelled, and even wrote to his father saying he was going to be coming home soon - but Snape never told anyone what happened.  He wasn't expelled and felt he owed Severus.  After this point Remus was much more adamant about defending Severus when his friends decided to pick on him, though he was still a bit wishy washy, afraid he'd lose his friends.  

1977: James started dating Lily, a very good friend of his, and he supported them together.  However, he did feel bad for Severus, who obviously liked her.  James was much less of a bully and even Head Boy.  Remus felt things were finally going well for him.  Amelie and his father had a child, Rose, his half sibling, whom Remus adored and spoiled when he could.

1978-1980: Graduation came around and Remus joined the Order, and as he was unable to hold a job down, he relied on James for financial support, refusing to take money from his father or Amelie, as that should be used for Rose, or that's what he said.  James bought Rose her first broomstick, just one that could barely hover above the ground on her first birthday.  Remus was able to hear her first words too, and he was the proudest big brother ever.  James and Lily had a son, Harry, whom Remus also adored, though he was afraid he would hurt both children.  

1981: Rose was three, and Remus was 21.  But in October of this year, James and Lily were killed.  Remus practically disappeared off the face of the earth - his best friend was betrayed by another best friend, and killed by Voldemort leading another of his best friends to be killed by the one who betrayed them.  Now Sirius was in Azkaban.  James and Peter were dead.  He felt alone and cursed.  He didn't want to hurt anyone with his presence.

1982-1992: Remus kept up correspondence with Rose and his family, though he didn't really visit too often as he was afraid he would hurt them.  When he heard about her... condition, well that was one of the first times in his life he really got angry and shouted at Amelie.  After Rose's condition was conveyed to him and he yelled at her mother, his letters were only to Rose, and came less and less often as the years went by.  He simply forgot to send a letter, or perhaps it was because he felt guilty.  

1993: He was approached by Dumbledore in the summer of this year to be the DADA professor, and while he was unsure about it at first, with the news of Sirius breaking out of prison, he agreed to teach at the school, if only so he could keep an eye on Harry.  He didn't want Sirius to hurt anyone else.  Oh, Rose was there too.  That was a plus.
