we are a low word count, any level of experience rp set in harry's 3rd year at hogwarts. students and adults alike are welcome! given we are set fairly early in the series, everything that happens from this point on will be up to us! perhaps sirius black will be cleared and peter arrested, or perhaps something darker lurks in the shadows...
Remus took in a deep breath and then closed his eyes and scratched his head. Well, that did sound amazing, but… there were some issues he could see with him having one like that. She likely didn’t even think anything of it because she’d always had everything she needed, but he had a lot of time when he had to deal with very little of what he needed.
“That’s wonderful, but…” He shook his head. “After Black is caught, I likely won’t be able to procure Wolfsbane any longer. Severus is providing me with the potion while I’m here at school, but what if there comes a day when he no longer provides for me? I’m not good at potions and the ingredients can be extremely expensive. I can’t make it myself.” He gives her a pair of sad eyes filled with longing. He glances to the side thinking of how wonderful that would be for so many people cursed with this affliction, but he couldn’t see himself able to use it. He wished… he wished he could have that sort of freedom. No wonder she seemed to act like a normal kid – a kid who wasn’t cursed like him. Because she wasn’t cursed.

"Stupid Moony," she said softly, reaching out to touch his hand, getting him to look at her.
"Do you think I'd just let you go without? Why do you think I've been so adamant about you getting it while you're here? Once this watch is on, it tracks it and you'll need it less, as the silver helps with it too."
She also gave a wobbly smile, "also Severus taught me the potion. I may hate his essays, but I actually have a knack for potions thankfully."
It was the first time she referred to Snape as, Severus in her brothers presence, she wasn't sure what he would make of it, her referring to him so familarly. But it was what is was.
"I just want us to be brother and sister again and not have to worry so much about this. Sure, it's always going to be a worry, but we need to take charge of it and run it, not have it run us."
He shook his head looking at her again, and then looking down at their hands. It was difficult, yes, but he also didn’t want to be a bother to those he loved.
“I couldn’t ask that of you – or Father or Amelie.” Moving his hand he stood up, though not before sneaking another bite of the cake. “You would have to buy the ingredients, double what you’d normally have to do, and I couldn’t help pay for them. I would be a burden. I wouldn’t be any use, all I’d do is suck you and them dry and be a leech. I won’t do that.”
He goes over to a mirror, running a hand through his hair and then adjusting his robes so they were a bit straighter, running a hand through his hair. “I should get ready for class. I have several essays I need to grade before next week.”

"I'd rather be poor and have you, than be rich and be without you."
She was looking at his back, frowning. He was asking her to leave in his own way and she began to pack up, walking around the desk to leave him yet another bottle of wolfsbane.
Shutting the drawer she stored it in, she spoke again. "And I think Dora feels the same."
She sighed, defeated for now. "It wouldn't just be me funding it. Family takes care of family. Regardless, all you got to do is let us. You'll find... You'll find d that once this watch is on, it takes much less of the potion. Just... think about it. Please."
Remus took in another deep breath to keep himself calm. He understood where she was coming from, but she didn’t understand at all what he was getting at. Taught from an early age that men were supposed to provide for their families, while he didn’t think women couldn’t, he felt it was his duty to do so if he ever hoped to have any sort of family of his own. That was part of the reason he left as well – just a small part of course, but he was just a leech and he couldn’t stand not being able to do anything for all the support he was given. Back before James and Lily and Peter died, he at least told himself that fighting the war was in a way paying James and Lily back for their hospitality, but even then he felt guilty.
“Dora doesn’t know anything about this, and it should stay that way. We’re not together, and we won’t ever be unless there’s a magical cure for this curse I’ve never heard of before. Something permanent and not based around if I can get my hands on a very expensive and difficult to make potion constantly. Family is supposed to take care of family yes, but family isn’t supposed to leech off of family either. They aren’t supposed to suck all the money out of the household for you to feel a little bit more human.”

He was back to self-pity and guilt again and she really sighed again. She was defeated this time, but it was not the end of the fight. She stared at his back a few moments longer before adjusting her bag on her shoulder. However, when he also called her Dora, her eyes gleamed. Bingo.
"Well," she said, seemingly unaffected by what he said. "I'll leave you to it. Thanks for having lunch with me."
She turned to leave, pausing at the door. "Just remember I do love and care about you, regardless of what your logic keeps telling you."
