Her eyes lit up with amusement, "well of course; you. Can. Have. Dessert. Whenever. You. Wish."
Each word was punctuated with another kiss to another scar, a peck to his lips, his nose. She giggled as he finally pulled himself away from her (and she already missed the heat of him being so close; did he run at a higher body temperature? Wasn't that... she shook her mind at the thought and turned her focus on the food.
"I honestly do not think anyone can attend Hogwarts and be a vegetarian, Remus," she teased, giving a bark of a laugh. "Beauxbatons, maybe. But not Hogwarts; nope. It looks delicious."
She would behave, so they could enjoy dinner, on this not-date; she still snickered at that. As this was so very much a date. She supposed the lights could be little lower and soft music could be playing, but this was a not-date. Still nonetheless, she focused her thoughts on the lights above them and nonverbally lowered the brightness, turning her attention back to Remus innocently.
“Well you’re far kinder than my sister. She doesn’t let me have dessert until I finish eating. She taunts that chocolate cake right in front of my face.” He laughed slightly sitting at his seat and then looking at her with an amused smile. He flicked his wand over at an old record player, muggle in origin, but it was fit to run on magic, and soon turned on some quiet romantic music. Two can play at that game, he thought. He waggled his eyebrows and ate a bit of the steak with a small cocky smile.
“So that promise, tell me about yourself.” He laced his fingers together and placed his elbows along the edge of the surface, looking to her with a small smile, wanting to know more about this wonderful woman who had taken his heart, and his first kiss.

She giggled as the music came on. What a date this not-date was turning out to be. She took a bite of the food, eyes closing. It was just as she remembered it being, actually probably better; since it was specifically requested from the house elves. It was as good as going out to the same fancy restaurant, not like she would have enjoyed that anyway.
"Well, while she and I have your physical health similarily in mind... the dessert I have in mind, would probably be more beneficial for you than cake. Not that I'm saying that cake isn't good."
She gave a suggestive wiggle of her eyebrows, a devious smile making its way across her lips, as she thought about how to answer him. Then, with a rather cute tilt of her head, amusement in her eyes, she just allowed him to lead the way. "What would you like to know?"
While Remus didn’t like how many people treated House Elves, he was always very kind and they seemed to find purpose in helping people out. He still wouldn’t have used them if he had any other choice but seeing as he was poor and had nothing else to really do for it, he just used what he had – either way they seemed happy to do it for him. Gave them something to do. Much like Remus was glad for his jobs even though they were very below his abilities.
“O-Oh.” He blushed profusely at the suggestion. He quickly coughed and looked away for a moment before looking back with a blushed smile. “Well…” Pulling out a piece of paper from his jacket. “I prepared for this…” He cleared his throat and started to read. “I would like to know about your parents – what were they like? Which parent were you closer to?” He looked up at her expectantly, excitement on his face. “And – what is your favorite memory from your childhood?”

Her devious smile shifted into one of amused interest as he pulled the parchment out of his pocket, she couldn't help the silly grin on her face. He has... he's prepared for this?! She bit the inside of her lip to hold back the very amused giggle. Oh my god, cute!
Once the questions were asked she gave them thought, her head tilted and biting her thumbnail. "I suppose I would consider myself a bit of a Daddy's girl. My father calls me 'Dora' too, so, that's why I really love that. As for my favourite childhood memory..."
She paused a moment, seemingly filtering through memories, suddenly her eyes lit up.
"Oh!" She giggled, the memory coming back to her. "So as you know I have a penchant of misbehaving, well, one year - I got into a really bad rebellious streak... I changed, completely, into McGonagall; a bunch of Slytherins were ganging up on some poor housemate - I can't remember his name anymore; but. I changed into her to scare the Slytherins off and well, not even a few minutes into it, she showed up right behind me, giving me that piercing cat look she gives people."
She dissolved into giggles a moment, eyes alight with amusement. "Suffice to say, regardless that she was hiding some sort of amusement under that scowl she was giving me; I lost the house 50 points for impersonating a teacher. At least I didn't get detention... at least, that time, I should say. Since I was using the mischief for a good thing. At least that's what she said."
Oh, so her father also called her Dora. Well that was adorable, and he had come up with it as well. That made it even more special. He was grinning throughout her entire story even chuckling slightly when it turned out McGonagall was right behind her. He covered his mouth and laughed when she finished up and he shook his head.
“That is – James would have loved to have you in the group. Do you have any idea how much mischief he would get into with you?” Remus shook his head, his face still red taking another bite of his meal. Man, just thinking of how things could have been if they had gone to school together was fantastic, but it also would have likely meant she would have gone the same way as Peter had gone. No, don’t think about that right now. Not while there was a beautiful lady in front of you who you did like a lot.
“At least she wasn’t too rough on you – I’m sure she was glad you weren’t too bad and you had a good reason for it.” He pointed at her with the fork. ”I think its amazing you were willing to do that to help someone out. Very brave and kind of you.” She reminded him a lot of how James and Sirius and Peter were back in the good days, almost a bitter sweet smile showing on his face as he thought about that. However, she was also very different. James and Sirius and Peter, or well mostly James and Sirius tended to like to pick on people for their own amusement as opposed to helping others out – unless that other was Remus. Because he remembered many times when they would team up on someone who was being mean to him. Or asking too many questions.
“I’m sure we would’ve gotten along if we had gone to school together.”

Her eyes glittered in amusement, a pretty smile adorning her face. "Sirius told me the same thing when he heard about it. 'Oh, I bet Gonagall's face was priceless!' Which, it was. She even said to me, when I arrived here, not to be scaring kids by appearing as her. Too bad... still would have been funny."
She smiled at him, "well, you know what they say, loyal and just. That's just what I am. I just tend to be up to no good, I swear, most of the time, 's why I was never a prefect."
Remus chuckled. “Well, I would hope you wouldn’t want to impersonate me. I do have a reputation to uphold.” Though… if it was convincing enough… if she was willing… if he had a rough moon, maybe he could convince her to sub for him and make sure no one thought he was actually gone… but that was way too much to ask and it was misleading the students even if it was for a good cause. He was too noble to even actually seriously consider the idea.
“Oh right,” Remus quickly looked down at his list ticking off the two from before. Her parents and favorite memory, and man, that was a good memory. It just made him lo – like her even more. “Let’s see, what about your friends from Hogwarts? Any one I should be on the look out for?” He teased that last part. “Any… past loves or… brotherly figures? Or sisterly figures.” Knowing how Rose could be, he knew sisters could be trouble. “And… how did you pick to become an Auror? Do you like it there?”
He ticks those off his list and then looks up at her with a smile. Man, he was awkward just asking her questions off a list instead of letting a conversation flow naturally. Unfortunately, he had issues with communicating on a personal level with other human-beings. He just lacked the practice, of course. At least he was trying.

She had no problem interacting like this, in fact, she noticed, that the list was rather lengthy. It just made him seem genuine.
"I'd do the same for anyone really, I mean - use my abilities to help, if needed. It's my favourite way to use them, after all," and she really would. While pranking people with them is also a favourite past time, just using them to help was also nice. His next question on his list caused her to give a bark of laughter.
"I'm afraid you are a couple weeks too late with that line of questioning, your sister cornered me with that as well. Cute, your sister. Like I said, she has your best interests in mind... I wouldn't be here if I didn't pass that."
She gave a wink, "but as for brother or sister figures; if not counting your own sister-" she blushed, revealing the fact that she was already thinking Rose as her own sister, was... admitting her feelings were deeper than just some sort of basic fancying of Remus. But it was true, she and Rose had spent some time together after that day she caught them. Tonks' had been thrilled that Rose had accepted her rather quickly. Parents were easily ignored - which, of course, she would never do, but, when it came to siblings, and the bond that these two had. Tonks' had to make sure that Rose accepted her too. Again, wouldn't be here if she didn't.
"I'm an only child, my parents' marriage caused a lot of drama... as you know, Noble House of Black, blood purity... yadda, yadda... my dad Being a Muggle-born... it's caused a lot of stress, so, it's just me. But, it's okay; if I were to have a sister - yours would do the job well. I have a feeling her and I would cause a ton of mischief."
She giggled at the thought, Okaaaay Tonks, don't be hinting at the connotation of what you're trying to say too thickly there.
"As for being an Auror..." she snickered. "Well, again, I like being able to use my abilities to help people. It was tough getting here though, this job was my first assignment of my own. Moody thought it would be safe enough. Patrolling a school with a bunch of kids. A piece of cake. And I do like it, even if Moody's a complete grouch."
She did smirk at this point, "but I guess if there's anyone you may need to be just a little worried about, it'd be Moody. He doesn't show it, but I know if someone tried to hurt me, well..."
Any sane man would realize what she was hinting at but Remus just thought it meant she liked his sister. While Rose could be slightly annoying at times he loved her very dearly even if she would tease him for everything that happened today. Oh god, he hoped Dora wouldn’t tell Rose everything that happened today. He was a private man and while she was his sister there were still some things he rather keep to himself.
”You really get along with her.” They seemed like pretty good friends already, so at least he didn’t need to worry about her going to Dora and doing something like he had to Willow. Heck he didn’t even know if Rose was with Willow and he still approached the kid. Very unprofessional of him but even still. He was just worried about her.
When she mentioned Moody he just stared at her for a moment. Oh god, what if Moody killed him for all of this? Well, he’d die a man who was fairly happy at least. ”That’s right you work with Moody. I know him from the war, he was part of the Order with me. Wasn’t his favorite thing... Constant Vigilance?”

Tonks giggled, "she's very charismatic and unobtrusive. She's very hard not to like."
And it was true, there was something, even from that first day, that she liked about the kid and thankfully Rose seemed to like her too.
"Oh, yes, 'Constant Vigilance', that's his favourite thing to sneak up behind you and suddenly bark. If you jumped, he'll scold you about not being vigilant enough."
While Remus was just getting to know his sister again, it honestly felt like they hadn’t lost contact at all at times. Others it felt like he had no idea who his sister was anymore. However, she seemed to be fairly popular with the student body, so at least there was that and he wouldn’t have to worry too much about watching her for people trying to cause her trouble – at least until they found out what she was… then again, she did say her classmates figured it out and didn’t seem to have too much trouble with them… but few people would tolerate it. Werewolves were a class XXXX creature that the ministry couldn’t even decide if they were human or just a beast. And with a recent law passed, werewolves had basically an impossible chance of ever getting a job if they were found out. Even if Rose managed to change a few minds, the road was going to be terribly difficult.
“Maybe I should test you sometime,” Remus teased as he continued to eat, looking at the next questions on his list. “Hmmm… Tell me about what a perfect morning would be like for you – anything at all, even if it were impossible.” He crossed it off and his eyes landed on a question on his list and his eyes lit up. “And if you could have anything in the whole world, what would it be?”
Post by Nymphadora Tonks on Jul 4, 2018 0:40:06 GMT
A dark blush stained her face, but it became darker and spread down her neck at the question what her perfect morning was. Several dozen answers ran through her head, but none of them were very... Uh, family oriented. Locking eyes with him once, she spoke in a low tone. "We'll have to wait and see, for that one, I believe."
She gave him a teasing wink.
"And to give further hint to what I mean, and to answer your next question, you."
His jaw literally dropped when she answered his question having not expected that in the slightest. What? She wanted – oh god. He’d never… and then she would be tainted beyond repair. If she chose to leave him, no one else would ever want her, the stigma of being with someone like him would follow her forever and – and he just couldn’t do that to her. If one were to compare Remus’s face to a tomato, he was redder, almost as if he were sunburned very badly.
“O-O-Oh…” He quickly took a bite of his steak so he had a bit more time to think of a way to respond. Perhaps he should just move on and pretend that never happened? He could just hear James and Lily teasing him already – even Sirius, but he tried not to think about it. Oh god, what if Rose found out about this? Swallowing his bite, he ran out of time for a response, and he hadn’t come any closer to finding a good solution to this awkward air.
“W-Well, I mean…” He looks to the side, his face still very much red, “If that’s what you w-w-want who am I to d-d-deny you…” Wait. Remus, stop. That wasn’t the message you wanted to say, but you already said it. How are you supposed to convey the fact you really like someone and if you weren’t a cursed beast you’d be okay with that without telling them you were a cursed beast of XXXX classification? He meant more like, if she wanted him, then he’d be there not – but… that was an appealing if not scary thought. Very scary. Could his lycanthropy be transmitted that way? There were no cases of it, but with such lack of evidence since people like him didn’t do that sort of things with non-cursed individuals, it could always be possible…

Good. Message received. Truth was, she was really debating on it now. But she took a deep breath and gave him a smile.
"Regardless of how selfish I could be, at this moment, I won't."
Man, it was... Really warm right now and she couldn't to help but the shiver in anticipation. A coy smile played in her lips as she stole glances at him.
