so feet don't fail me now
The classroom was large and spacious and for today’s lesson, the desks were all positioned on one side the room in a half circle to better facilitate conversation. On the opposite side of the room were several tables that lined the opposite wall with various random objects such as a pointed hat, a broken quill, a cat toy, and basically anything Brooklyn could gather throughout the castle that wouldn’t be missed. The room was well lit by the natural light coming in from the open windows and a gentle breeze kept it at a comfortable temperature.
Brooklyn wore a knee length, professional-looking dress underneath her black robe with matching black kitten heels, and her hair was down, coming a few inches below her shoulders. Her green eyes sparkled as she glanced toward the open door, ready for her class to arrive. Today’s class would be full with all houses and years 3-6 present. She had picked something to teach that would hopefully intrigue the older years without being too challenging for the younger students. As it was her first year teaching, Brooklyn was still a bit nervous before each class, but she felt that thus far, she was doing alright.
Moving a stray piece of hair from her face, Brooklyn took a seat in one of the student’s desks while she waited for them to arrive. She hoped that sitting among them would help to make this a conversational class rather than a lecture. It was also her hope that it would put them at ease and recognize her as someone they could come to if they ever had any needs.

Well, that was different. Seems like instead of having Charms with Flitwick, which any Ravenclaw would expect, she was apparently assigned to the co-teacher. What was her name...? She fished out her timetable for the week (she was legit the only person who got her schedule weekly...) and looked at it. Professor Kinsley. Pretty!
She slipped in the room and looked around, expecting said Professor to be standing at the front of the class, but instead, was lounging rather comfortably in one of the student desks. Well, Rose couldn't argue with that. She took a seat to Prf. Kinsley's left and smiled.
It shouldn't have happened but you let it Now you're down on the ground screaming medic The only thing that comes is the post-traumatic stresses Shields, body armors and vests don't properly work That's why you're in a locker full of hurt The enemy within and all the fires from your friends The best medicine's to probably just let it win
These battle scars don't look like they're fading
Harry had been looking at his schedule since he got it. He was a bit let down when it showed he was going to not have Professor Flitwick and instead the co-teacher that had been introduced at the feast. He understood why it was like that – one teacher teaching every single student probably was very taxing. While he hoped Professor Lupin would be around next year to teach DADA, there was something about a curse on the DADA position that made him doubt it – maybe he could be a co-teacher with McGonagall or something like that. He couldn’t see Lupin teaching with Snape or Sprout. Maybe with Hagrid – his class this year was dealing with creatures. He loved Hagrid but maybe Professor Lupin could help make things a little less… dangerous. Hagrid was not very good at judging safety.
Harry waltzed on into the charms classroom and saw Professor Kinsley standing at the front of the class. He smiled at her and took his seat, seeing the Raveclaw girl in his year that was sixteen. He waved and started pulling out his book, notebook, quill, and ink so he could take notes for the class. His wand was tucked in his robes ready to go if anything came up.
“’Lo Professor.” Harry wasn’t exactly excited – he didn’t know what to expect with this new professor, but he hoped it would be more practical like Lupin’s classes were. He was much better in practice than lectures or reading. Or writing essays in general.

Hermione rushed down the corridor, trying to ensure that she was on time for Ancient Runes. But wait! Charms! She had charms right now too. She had almost forgotten about it. Glancing at her schedule she noted the classroom as well as the instructor. Prof. Kinsley was a new addition, and Hermione hoped she would turn out to be as talented as Prof. Lupin had proven to be as well as knowledgeable like Prof. Flitwick. Realizing she was wasting time, Hermione turned into an empty corridor and hid behind a statue. She pulled the time turner from under her robe and turned it the proper amount of times to take her back just a few minutes.
The world around her began to blur and a few people walked by her backward at an accelerated rate before she found herself in an empty corridor once again. She quickly took an alternate route to the Charms classroom, ensuring that she did not cross paths with the version of her that would soon head to Ancient Runes. Time. Such an odd thing and finicky at that. Luckily, Hermione was sharp enough to figure out this time turner thing and use it appropriately.
Walking into the Charms classroom quickly, Hermione still managed to be early. Good because if she wasn’t early for something then Hermione felt late. Spotting the older Ravenclaw, Hermione gave her a hesitant smile before walking over to Harry. “Hi, Harry.” she said, pleased to see that he appeared ready to take notes. She pulled out her own materials and glanced at the Professor who was sitting next to the Ravenclaw in a student’s desk. That was odd, but not unheard of. “Hello, Professor Kinsley.” she said politely before looking back at Harry. “Did you read the chapter?”

What was with that hesitant smile?
Rose rose a brow at Hermione as she rushed in, her eyes noting a glitter of gold being tucked away. "You know 'Mione..."
She started this, to gain her attention. "I do hope you're not overtaxing yourself. School is fun, but so is actually getting to enjoy it."
She snickered, "Also, morning to you too."
She gave a grin, she might've just casually hinted at that she hadn't greeted her, Rose wasn't bothered by it, but it was nice to tease the other girl. Gently of course. It would not do good to turn her charm on now. Not with Harry in the room. She didn't need that. Nope.

Before Harry could reply, the older girl, Rose, spoke to Hermione. Transfer students were rare, and Hermione would’ve been devastated to have been put back 3 years in school. Unfortunately, Hermione often forgot that Rose was only a 3rd year and hadn’t really gotten to know her much. Now, Rose’s words and laugh made Hermione feel a bit anxious and quite uncertain. Was she insulting her or trying to be funny? Hermione wasn’t sure. “Umm. I do enjoy it.” She replied, ignoring the comment about overtaxing herself. Sure, her work load was a lot, but it wasn’t more than Hermione could handle. (Right? Right?!?!)
“And good morning.” she finished, trying to keep the irritation from her voice and failing.

Brooklyn greeted each student who had greeted her in turn. She gave them gentle smiles and watched their interactions briefly as more students filed in. She was slightly fearful that they may consider her incompetent when compared to Flitwick and that perhaps they may be disappointed. But there was nothing she could do about that, and the opinions of students, though important, might not be an accurate reflection of her teaching ability.
As the class began to fill up, Brooklyn glanced at her watch and noted that it was time to get started. She stood up from the desk among the students and spoke, “Good morning and welcome. My name is Brooklyn Kinsley. I know it might be odd without Prof. Flitwick, but I hope we can manage to have a good year together.” Hopefully that didn’t sound to cheesy, but Brooklyn was a bit nervous. It was her first class, after all.
“If you read the assigned reading before coming, you’d know that we are working on a Summoning Charm today. It might be a bit advanced for some of the 3rd and 4th years, but I think you can all give it a fair shot today.” She cleared her throat before sitting down in the desk. “Someone tell me about the Summoning Charm. No need to raise your hands or anything. You’re all old enough to know not to interrupt each other” she finished, hoping she had introduced herself and their topic well enough.

Rose was about to retort when Professor Kinsley began class. Lucky Hermione. Rose smiled, shaking her head and pulled out her Charms book, flipping to the page for the charm for today: Summoning Charm.
She didn't even bother to try and answer Kinsley cause she knew Hermione would be right on that in a second. This little ragtag group would be enough to be entertaining enough for the hours.
and most of them are mine. there are things even my mind can't deny.

A
line of Oh no he was late. He was very very late! For a very important date! Well, not a date. More like class. He had been chased by some boys who had a bone to pick with the Hufflepuff and finally lost them only to realize he was running late to Charms class. He booked it as fast as he could towards the charms classroom. After literally running right in the door and hurting his nose before running in, making a loud clatter with his feet as the room had been silent just after the professor asked a question.
Luckily, he had caught the question and hoped answering it would excuse him from being late and having made a loud entrance. “S-Sorry Professor!” He takes in a deep breath. “Th-The summoning charm… well it makes something come to you. Th-The incantation is Accio, and… when you cast it you have to have the object very clear in your mind or looking at it. It can’t be used on living things… or buildings. Things move really fast like, really close to light speed I think when you summon it. I think things usually come with anti-theft enchantments that prevent the summoning charm from anyone but the owner.”
